Radiesse® in St. Louis, MO

What is Radiesse?

Radiesse St. Louis - Ophthalmic Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery

Radiesse is a skin injection similar to Restylane and Sculptra which decreases the look of scars and smoothes wrinkles and folds around the mouth and nose. The key advantage of Radiesse is that the results can last for more than two years, although you may need some minor touch-ups during that time. If you have facial wrinkles or scars that are diminishing your appearance, you may be an excellent candidate for Radiesse in St. Louis.

What Causes Aging?

The aging process is partially due to a loss of collagen, and Radiesse actually stimulates your body’s natural collagen production. As a result, your skin “plumps” on its own after the injections, creating a more youthful appearance. Radiesse is effective in reducing many lines on the face and can even decrease the appearance of “pre-jowls,” the sagging of the skin and muscle at the jaw line.

What to expect during radiesse® treatment

Performed as an outpatient procedure under a local anesthetic, you can go home right away after your injections. The procedure takes under an hour, and the effects take about a week to show fully. You can resume your normal activities immediately.

What is recovery like?

For the first day or two, you may have some minor inflammation and bruising. You can take mild pain medication, if necessary. You will also be more susceptible to sunburn after your Radiesse injections, so avoid exposure to the sun.

What procedures can be combined with radiesse®

Other procedures that may be recommended to alleviate facial wrinkles and folds are Botox, Restylane, Dysport, Sculptra, and Fat Transfer. The team at Ophthalmic Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery, Inc. will help you choose the best procedures for you based on the look you want to achieve.
